Stained by Cheryl Rainfield

I liked this book alot.  Sarah was born with a port wine stain on her face.  It is the day of her appt to start getting the stain removed, and her father discovers someone has embezelled from his company, and unfortunately Sarah won’t be getting her treatments.  She has been made fun of all her life.  She wants to write comic books and knows a boy, Nick, who could illustrate them. Sarah always looks out for the other person, coming to someone’s rescue if she sees they are being bullied.  One rainy day, Sarah is drugged and kidnapped.  The rest of the story is about her survival despite having her blindfold locked around her head and never having enough food to eat.  There are some very mature instances in this book so I don’t think I would recommend it to my kids at school.  However, I will recommend it to the teens at the public library who are looking for an emotionally rich thriller.Stained
